Bryce
Bryce is an engaging and affectionate 14-year-old girl. She is very popular with the other students in school as everyone seems to be drawn to her. Bryce is diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. This means that she has frequent and severe seizures that are very difficult to treat and global developmental delays. Bryce is currently in a residential placement, but her treatment team unanimously feel that she could make even greater strides in a forever family home.
Bryce now communicates with a combination of modified ASL, pointing, vocalization and an electronic communication device. She is encouraged to use vocalization as much as possible, which has improved her spoken vocabulary. She loves spending time outside on walks, and recently learned to climb the steps on the playground to go down the slide. This made her very happy. She enjoys books and wooden puzzles. She has an engaging sense of humor and a charming laugh. If you are interested in learning more about Bryce, feel free to also reach out to her worker at tara.j.spicer@dhhs.nh.gov.
